Fans arrested over disorder at Brondby v Rangers - 05/11/2021
Source : https://www.bbc.com/
Arrests were made after a "violent" clash between police and supporters at the Europa League match between Rangers and Brondby in Denmark on Thursday.
Vestegnen Police said some fans of the Glasgow club had turned up to the game without a "regulated" ticket which resulted in "commotion" at the away section.
There was also fighting inside the stadium involving fans from both sides.
Four people were arrested, with charges including violence against the police.
Footage posted on social media showed Rangers fans throwing punches at officers who struck back with batons, with some fans accusing the police of using heavy-handed tactics.
A statement issued by Vestegnen Police read: "In connection with the match, there have been a few episodes between football fans and the police.
"Before the match, a group of Rangers fans tried to enter Brøndby Stadion, even though they did not have a regulated ticket.
"It caused commotion at the entrance to the away section of the stadium. After the match, there were a few episodes where rioters tried to get over to the opponent's fans, which was prevented by the police.
"A total of four people were arrested in connection with the fight. They are charged with ordinary violence or violence against the police."
The match finished in a 1-1 draw.
There was also disorder at the game between the two clubs at Ibrox last month, with Brondby fans fighting with police and stewards as they attempted to attack Rangers supporters inside the stadium.

Shamrock Rovers win marred by fireworks off the pitch
Two goals from Danny Mandroiu and a header from Sean Hoare saw Shamrock Rovers fight back and beat Waterford 3-1 at the RSC, on a night marred by crowd trouble.
After John Martin opened the scoring inside fifteen minutes, fireworks exploded from the away end which led to referee Rob Hennessy bringing both teams off the pitch. A further incident at the start of the second half led to the officials threatening to call off the game.
The game settled after that and the champions lived up to their title win with three late goals.
After Rovers kicked-off to restart the game, loud bangs were heard from the away end and fireworks exploded over the pitch. In the confusion that followed, referee Rob Hennessy brought both teams together and they walked off the pitch.
The game resumed 15 minutes later.

1. FC Saarbrücken - 1. FC Kaiserslautern - 06/11/2021
This third division game made the police more work than most Champions League games: In the Saarbrücken derby against Kaiserslautern, police officers from Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Bavaria and federal police officers had to intervene.
On Friday (November 5th), the evening before the game, FCS supporters were causing stress in the city center.
The police had to intervene on the evening before the game
On match day, Police officers attack Saarbrücken rioters who have thrown Bengalos at them. Everywhere in the city firecrackers cracked, Bengalos flared, projectiles flew. Again and again people from Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern tried to break the police chains, to attack each other.
The emergency services only managed to keep the hostile groups apart at the train station by using baton and pepper spray. Several officers were injured by throwing bottles, one service dog by a firecracker.
It was also tricky in the stadium, not only because of the Bengalos: Around 100 FCKers had tickets for the Saarbrücken north stand block T1 / T2 / T3 in the Ludwigsparkstadion. That brought the people of Saarbrücken completely on top of things, the Lauterer were brought to the guest block C.
Even after the game, the police had to intervene again. The enthusiasm of the guests caused even more aggression among the Saarbrücken supporters.
The police record of the derby: six arrests, 110 evictions, umpteen proceedings for theft, assault and insult.

For the second time this season, a FC Utrecht game has been temporarily suspended. After throwing the beer in the home game against RKC Waalwijk, the away match against Vitesse was stopped because there was a large amount of fireworks on the field.
The Utrecht captain Willem Janssen called it “vandalism”. The club itself soon made itself heard and spoke of “an absolute disgrace”.
“This is the opposite of supporting the team and our club,” said director Thijs van Es via the club channel. “We think it is scandalous that massive fireworks were thrown in the direction of the field, where people were sitting and players were standing. It should be clear that this is nothing at all what FC Utrecht stands for.”
Everything on camera
They have already taken action at FC Utrecht, because the misconduct has been recorded by the cameras in Arnhem. Van Es: “We have already received the images from our colleagues at Vitesse and are going to impose harsh penalties on those responsible.”
“Furthermore, we would like to apologize from our club for the misbehavior of the minority in the branch, who want to call themselves supporters of our club.”

A group of Salernitana supporters were said to have been surrounded by their Lazio rivals on Sunday morning.
Two were allegedly stabbed while eight others escaped scuffles with only minor bruising.
Later a third fan was said to have been stabbed near the Stadio Olimpico – home to Lazio since 1953.
A convoy of 30 buses carrying Salernitana ultras was understood to have been held up on the way to the Italian capital.
That meant a large swath of visiting fans arrived after kick-off in the evening fixture.
Lazio and Salernitana have an interesting shared history off the pitch.
