Fans lay siege to pub A GANG of soccer hooligans laid siege to a Blackburn pub and caused more than £1,000 worth of damage.
The Stoke City supporters rained house bricks through the windows of the Brewers Arms, Great Bolton Street, while terrified drinkers dived for cover.
Landlady Mrs Margaret Rothwell, said: "It was terrifying. There were full bricks coming through the windows and glass flying everywhere." _________________

Quality time had by all. All the Man City seemed to be at the ground early and as we walked up after about 12 of us were drinking in town we walked into the smallish park / playground at the back of the West End. Steps on the far side were full of you lot and you seemed to pour down like some sort of fucking tidle wave. Two of our lot shouting STAND!!!! Fuck that, we ere all about 18 and fucking did one sharpish. Got chased in a very comical manner about half way round the ground before you lot gave up. After coming full circle to where we'd started Cov had arrived and the was a toe to toe up and down the road at the back of the West End that seemed to go on for ages with only about 10 OB trying to keep everyone apart.

It was the first time the two clubs had met in a number of years. And it brought out the different gangs with them all joining up with other local gangs from Fleetwood, Bispham and other areas on the Fylde Coast. One of the first things they did that day was to attack the Ramsden Arms pub, even though it was the drinking and meeting place for the Rammy Arms Crew. However, a group of Bolton fans unwittingly had come off their train and gone into the Ramsden Arms for a pre-match drink. According to the Blackpool Evening Gazette, “Windows were smashed as louts hurled snooker balls and cues through the expensive lead weighted windows” as they attacked the Bolton fans inside. Blackpool had 100’s out that day and a number of battles took place in and around the ground.

"They were unbeaten at home for about 30 games, Mick Ferguson picked up the ball on the half way line, wandered aimlessly towards their goal in his wildebeeste like way, and stroked it past the keeper as their defence did not bother to tackle him.
Afterwards there were a bunch of strange looking blokes on the train back to Brighton, the police escort disappeared at the next station, and these lads got out of the train but NOT on the platform side, and then took out every window with bricks, shale and anything else they could lend their hands on. Completely indiscriminate, women, kids etc all got showered with glass."
